A Rose Bowl

The Kegs 'n Eggs blog alerted Gameday Style to something new for Valentines Day.  Last week, they posted about FTD offering their new College Rose Collection.  FTD says they are "the perfect Valentine for your College Sweetheart". They currently only cover 14 schools, but they say to let them know on Facebook what school you'd like and I'm sure they'll have them ready to go in time for football season. Football Valentine Cookies

If you have ever checked out my Pinterest boards , I have an entire board dedicated to football-themed cakes and cookies.  I can bake and cook, but decorated cakes and cookies have never been my forte, I'm more of the admire it and buy it from a bakery kind of gal.  My son's birthday at the end of January also came with a request for football cookies for his friends at school.  I told him, "Sure!  I'll call and order some." No..he really wanted ME to make them.  I can usually talk my boys out of these things, but I have some guilt doing so this time around.  We are in the process of moving to a new city (a coaching change!)  and Daddy is already living and working there.  In situations such as these, the mothering instinct--although stretched-- is in full-effect trying to keep normalcy in our lives.   Me decorating cookies is not normalcy, but my son wanting his Mama to make cookies for his class is.  I have attempted decorated cookies before...completely delic

Print these Football Valentines

If you have a football loving boy at your house, he may be requesting football-themed Valentines to give his buddies and little lady friends at his school party.  Spotgirl, an illustrator and mom that keeps the blog, Hotcakes , has a simple solution for you that has Gameday Style.   You can print these onto cardstock, for your little guy (or gal!) to embellish for friends.  These samples from Hotcakes  were painted with watercolors.  The reverse on the card says, Happy Valentine's Day!   If you happen to make these, please email Gameday Style some pictures....

As it turns out the Patriots didn’t do so bad either and are headed to the Super Bowl. This is all very exciting because there is nothing NY’ers like more than beating Boston/New England sports teams :) Patriots fans, here is what I suggest wearing…new clothes always help me deal with a loss ( and I may have to buy some of these items to celebrate NY’s win ). 1.  Twist Back Tank  / 2.  Pleated Cropped Trouser  / 3.  Enameled Geo Bangle  / 4.  Shawl Collar Wrap Cardigan  / 5.  Silver Metallic Satchel  / 6.  Viv Flats  / 7.  Silver Sparkle Stack Ring  / 8.  Woven Bead Necklace Congratulations Giants - you are on your way to the Super Bowl! Sign your name, please...

Super fans are on their computers checking Twitter, ESPN and message boards... High school football players are celebrating with ceremonies at their schools... The coaches are all hovered around fax machines, waiting for the letters to come in and anxiously waiting for their first day off since late July. And there are lots of parties in the works. It's National Signing Day today and I'm thinking about lots of football families everywhere.  For some more casual fans, Signing Day makes one wonder what in the world is even being signed.  To clear things up, I have given you an article from Rivals.com  explaining the entire thing... http://footballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?SID=880&CID=638484 by David Fox Thousands of high school athletes will sign their National Letter of Intent this week, beginning the next phase of their lives as a collegiate student-athlete. On the flip side, coaches all over the country will wait pensively i
